FAQ
Membership, payment, pooled orders, and pickup
Clear answers about membership, pricing, payment, order timing, and local pickup.
Membership
Who is Pawlo Connect for?
Pawlo Connect is built for independent pet professionals in the Calgary area, including groomers, dog walkers, trainers, pet sitters, in-home boarders, mobile pet-health and education providers, and other small pet-service businesses that use supplies in their work. No commercial storefront is required. Pawlo Connect is designed for pros who work from home, on the road, or at client sites.
Is membership free?
Yes. Membership is free at launch. Pawlo Connect is gated by business verification, not by a membership fee.
How is a business verified?
We confirm the mobile number for the main business contact. We also check for a public website, social profile, or business listing that matches the application and shows service in the Calgary area.
Why might an application remain pending?
Your application may stay pending while our team checks your business details or while Pawlo Connect is still accepting waitlist applications. Pending does not mean you were charged or signed up for another program.
Products and pricing
What products are available?
Pawlo Connect focuses on curated, non-prescription operating supplies for pet-service businesses, such as grooming products, training treats, waste bags, cleaning supplies, and other everyday essentials. Product selection can vary by buying cycle.
What does “below-retail pricing” mean?
It means approved members can access prices below ordinary retail pricing on eligible items. Pawlo Connect does not publish a fixed savings percentage, and the exact member price is shown before you commit.
Why are some products sold only by the case?
Some suppliers sell certain products only by the case. When that happens, one case is the smallest amount you can add to your Pawlo Connect order.
Can Pawlo Connect substitute another product?
No, not without your explicit approval. Pawlo Connect does not swap you into a different product or higher-priced option automatically.
Are supplier promotions passed through automatically?
No. Your committed member price is fixed to the offer you accepted for that buying cycle. A later supplier promotion does not automatically change an already committed price.
Shared order and progress
How does the pooled order work?
Pawlo Connect combines smaller member orders into one shared supplier order. You choose only what your business needs. We place the supplier order after the group reaches the shared target and enough orders are paid.
What starts the buying cycle?
A buying cycle starts when the first member confirms an order for the group.
How long can aggregation take?
Aggregation is demand-driven. Pawlo Connect keeps the rolling community order open until the shared target is reached or the batch is otherwise closed.
What does the progress percentage mean?
The percentage shows how close the group is to the supplier’s shared freight target. It is based on eligible confirmed items. We show progress as a percentage instead of sharing supplier costs.
Why is progress a percentage rather than a dollar total?
The supplier target is based on supplier costs, not the prices members pay. A percentage shows how close the group is without publishing private supplier pricing.
What happens if the pooled supplier threshold is not reached?
If the shared threshold is not reached, the pooled supplier order does not go ahead for that cycle, and members are not charged during aggregation.
Payment
Am I charged when I commit?
No. Commitment records your order and payment choice, but no charge happens while the order is still aggregating.
What happens to my card at commitment?
If you choose card, Stripe securely saves your payment method so Pawlo Connect can charge it later if the group order goes ahead. Your card is not charged while the group order is building.
When is my card authorized and charged?
After the group reaches its target, Pawlo Connect opens a 48-hour payment window. We check saved cards during that window. Your card is charged, including the 2.4% credit-card surcharge shown before you commit, only after the paid group order is ready to go ahead.
How does e-Transfer work?
If you choose Interac e-Transfer, you are still only committing during aggregation. Once funding opens, Pawlo Connect gives you payment instructions and treats the order as funded only after the transfer is received and verified. Interac e-Transfer has no added fee.
What happens if payment fails?
You have 48 hours after the payment window opens to fix a failed payment. If payment is not completed in time, your order is removed from that supplier order.
What happens if a supplier price rises or an item becomes unavailable?
Pawlo Connect does not move you into a substitute or higher-priced item without your explicit approval. If an item cannot proceed, the remaining funded pooled order can still go ahead only if it still qualifies after that change.
How do refunds work?
Exact refund terms are still being finalized before transactional ordering launches. Today’s commitment is narrower: do not assume the card surcharge is refundable, and any refund or release will follow the purchase terms shown when ordering opens.
Fulfillment and pickup
Does Pawlo Connect ship or deliver?
No. Pawlo Connect uses local Click N Collect. Orders arrive at one Calgary receiving site, and members pick up their prepared items there.
When will I know my order is ready?
Pawlo Connect will send transactional updates when your funded items have been received and prepared for local pickup.
How long do I have to pick up?
Pawlo Connect sends pickup details when your funded order is ready. The pickup instructions will explain what to do next.
What happens if I cannot pick up on time?
Contact Pawlo Connect as soon as possible. Late pickup is handled manually, and Pawlo Connect does not publish an automatic forfeiture, restock, refund, or credit rule here.
Can part of my order proceed if another item cannot?
Yes, but only if the remaining funded pooled order still qualifies after the unavailable or removed item is taken out.
Communications and support
Which messages are transactional?
Transactional messages include verification steps, application status updates, commitment and funding instructions, payment recovery notices, and pickup-ready reminders that are needed to run your Pawlo Connect account or order.
Does receiving order SMS or email subscribe me to marketing?
No. Transactional SMS and email for your application, order, payment, or pickup do not subscribe you to marketing.
How do I get help with a commitment, payment, or pickup?
Email hello@pawloconnect.com for help with a commitment, payment question, or pickup issue, and include enough detail for Pawlo Connect to find the right application or order.
